Reading/ Writing

Listed below are grading procedures, homework expectations, and absentee procedures that will be used in class this year. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with these policies. Please feel free to contact via email at with any questions or concerns.

I. Grading Procedures:

                                        Tests and Quizzes 50%

                                        Homework 25%

                                        Classroom assignments 25%

Reading/Writing: Students will have a grammar quiz on Thursday and a spelling/vocabulary quiz on Friday. If there is a change in this schedule, I will document it in agenda books. Other tests and quizzes will be given with adequate time to study and review. I will provide study guides as often as possible.

II. Homework Expectations: Homework will be given Monday through Thursday evenings. Homework will always be posted on the chalkboard and time will be given at the beginning of class to copy it down. I will try not to administer homework on Fridays. If there is a day with no homework, students will write “no homework” in their agenda books. If you would like more homework communication, please email the above address!

III. Absentee Procedures: If your child is absent, it is their responsibility to come to me for missed content, class work, and homework assignments. I will have this information in their folder and I will take time to explain any information the students are having difficulty with. Missed work will be expected back in a timely manner (no later than 1 week after absence).
